The Pacers might want to shift Turner across the paint, onto LeBron’s side, or at least prime him to scoot over earlier.
Green has limited utility if he’s not making open 3s. It’s tempting to suggest the Cavs have Green defend Turner, so they could switch the Victor Oladipo-Turner pick-and-roll. But that would mean Love on Young, a tricky screener himself. And it’s unclear if Green would fare all that well switching onto Oladipo anyway.
The Jets also plan to have the quarterbacks take pre-draft visits to their Florham Park headquarters.
Maccagnan said the Jets feel confident they can land a good player after trading up to No. 3 in the draft. It is clear the Jets have a few players they feel are worth taking at No. 3. They did not move up targeting one player.
“If you feel good about the pool of players that may be available at three, then you feel comfortable making that move,” Maccagnan said.
“Mr. Brees’ behavior and his belief that he was wronged because the jewelry did not appreciate in value as quickly as he hoped both demonstrate a lack of integrity and contradict basic principles of both economics and the law.”
Brees, who began his NFL career with the San Diego Chargers in 2001, is said to have spent about $15 million over the years, claiming he was led to believe by Moradi that the jewelry’s value would increase over time. Among the pristine pieces purchased is a blue-diamond ring for $8.18 million. It was appraised for $3.75 million.
Moradi’s attorney said his client won’t stand for being bullied by Brees.
“He should restrict his game-playing to the football field, and refrain from bullying honest, hard-working businessmen like my client,” George said.
Brees recently signed a two-year extension worth $50 million ($27 million guaranteed).
